OUR HISTORY

Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church was founded in 2006 by a group of believers desiring to reach the local community with the gospel of the lord Jesus Christ. After much prayer, the oversite approached brother Ian Fairley and asked him if he would Pastor the flock and become its spiritual leader.

Humbled by the trust the leadership put in him, he sought the Lord’s will earnestly for guidance, confident that the Lord would lead him, he excepted the Pastorate of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church which was a new work. Premises were needed for the church to hold services so it was decided to approach the committee of the Independent Orange Institution, with the view of hiring their hall in Edward Street Ballymoney, God opened up the door as the committee kindly agreed to let us have the hall at a very reasonable rent.

With only a few members in its congregation it was decided that Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church would hold their first service on Sunday the 5th February 2006, that was almost nine years ago.

By then the congregation began to grow under God’s blessing it became evident that we would soon need our own property and building if we were to move forward in our vision. After much prayer and after looking at many sites, God led us to a one acre site on the Ballymena Road Ballymoney which was ideal for our needs, so we purchased it at a very reasonable price fully convinced that this was God’s will for us.

We prayed much that if it wasn’t God’s will the door would close, but he didn’t and now five years later under the leadership of Pastor Ian Fairley, with a faithful congregation and a faithful God we have a great church at 34 Ballymena Road Ballymoney. And we give all the Glory to God.

The minister is Pastor Ian Fairley with his wife Iris.

Pastor Fairley has been the minister of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church from the inception of the church, in 2006.
